David Leroy Anderson has lived in Malibu for 40 years and as a young man, began sculpting in Hollywood's special effects make-up laboratories. Working for the past thirty years on feature films and television, David has sculpted, designed, and applied the make-ups of hundreds of characters, aliens and monsters.  Anderson calls his company DLA SILVERWEAR because he is committed to bringing his creations to the people in the form of unique sculptures that are both exquisite and wearable.

Anderson, a two time Academy Award winner for Best Make-Up for his work with Rick Baker on The Nutty Professor and Men in Black, recently took home an Emmy for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup in a Series for his work on American Horror Story: Freak Show.

To date, DLA has created three distinct lines of jewelry. The signature line, "Leonis Rex," celebrates the simple and rare beauty of the lion's natural skeletal forms.

His second line of designs is named "XO2K." These designs rely upon the chaos of fissures and faults in the cracked earth. A native of Southern California,DLA has turned what was once a natural preoccupation with earthquakes and faults into a dynamic and very textured line of accessories and rings.

The latest line is entitled "Ocean Nouveau." All the spines, claws and tentacles of ocean creatures as well as simple wave forms play a part in this group of designs for those who love the sea.

Known for his zealous attention to detail, Anderson himself sculpts each element of the jewelry in wax. After the master pieces have been cast, Anderson assembles and finishes each piece by hand in his studio.
